FIFA 10 to launch in October for all platforms
Whether you call it soccer or football, it's the world's most popular game, and
EA Sports is bringing the newest virtual life version to your consoles October 2.
The release is an ambitious one, as EA Sports is going to make the game available on the Nintendo
Wii, the
Xbox 360, both
Playstation 2 and
Playstation 3, PC computers, Nintendo DS, Playstation portable and even some cellular phones.
All versions won't be identical. Mobile phone and portable game systems will lack some of the features of the console versions, and
FIFA 10 for the Wii will have slightly more stylized graphics but some more complex game play, according to Softpedia.
"We have benefited from 275 million games played online to refine FIFA 10 in a way that matters most to our fans," said Andrew Wilson, VP and executive producer for the FIFA franchise. "We've listened and responded to their feedback to improve player control, responsiveness and intelligence and create what we believe is the world's most authentic football videogame."
There is no motion capture in FIFA 10, although as Microsoft and Sony add those abilities to their machines, it may show up in FIFA 11.
