Have a more active Canadian Thanksgiving Day
For those new to Canada or Canadian culture, Thanksgiving Day falls on the second Monday in October, instead of the third Thursday in November, as in the U.S. Of course, the celebrations are still the same - lots of family, food, drink and sports.
This year, why not grab your fitness gear and get some exercise in before the turkey's done roasting?
Make your own Thanksgiving Day Classic that doesn't consist of all family members staying on the couch to watch the games. Before the big day, pick up some new fitness gear as gifts for family and friends and then encourage them to play a rousing game of football outside in the yard. Of course, if you don't have the space, a quick trip to the local park is also a great idea.
Picking up new fitness gear for Canadian Thanksgiving Day is a great way to start off the long holiday season with the right attitude in mind. You can still be healthy and indulge in plenty of tasty treats, and your workout clothes will serve as a great reminder to run that 5K New Year's Day.
