Ladies and gents both opt for bulky fall boots

Canadian fall fashions aim to pacify the rocker in all of us this fall with some edgy looks, stunning boots and no Uggs in site - just yet. Anticipate new Uggs in the depths of winter, but for now, media outlets prefer a funkier look for men and women alike.

Dubbed the city hiker by The Globe and Mail, this men's look aims to present boots exactly as you'd expect. Heavier, more durable styles will be paired with slimmer, more tailored pants giving a bad-boy-meets-office worker feel to the outfit.

The Suburban expects to see a great deal of Diana Rigg-like boots with slim skirts on ladies this fall. Those who don't know, Ms Rigg was the butt-kicking female detective on the 1960s British show, The Avengers. Her signature style included a pair of delicately heeled, knee-high boots that were both feminine and utterly intimidating.

As always, it's a good idea to pack away the pastels and check out warmer colors in the fall to match the leaves, but also to start to get into that snuggly, warm winter-state just in time for the first snow.
