More Canadians should emulate Anna Wintour this winter

In Canada, winters often seem long - so long in fact that some long for sunny beaches and warm sunlight. While this isn't exactly possible without spending a great deal of money on a trip abroad, any fashion-conscious type can invoke summer with a suave pair of sunglasses.

Of course, to avoid snow blindness, it's a great idea to make sure you wear sunglasses on any sunny, frosty day. However, the new documentary "The September Issue" about Vogue Editor Anna Wintour is a great reminder that sunglasses can look chic anytime and anywhere.

For those who don't know, Wintour does not design sunglasses - she simply wears them in an incredibly wide range of locales. She can be seen sporting big, dome-shaped frames at a fashion show and while walking around in public. Somehow, these frames manage to look quite mysterious and may give Wintour quite the individual edge.

If you balk at the idea of big frames, remember that sunglasses come in a wide range of styles for more sporty or classic personalities. Before you know it, a hot pair of shades may just become a comfortable part of your wardrobe, but remember to take them off when indoors.
