In 2010, Canadian ladies would be wise to attend to their makeup and not end up making a faux pas like Nicole Kidman - for those who don't know, she recently walked the red carpet wearing copious amounts of under-eye makeup.

To stay makeup savvy like the more fashionable stars, the National Post recommends that women try to go au naturel this 2010. Before you freak out and start hugging your eyeliner to your chest, the natural look refers to that which can be achieved using mineral-based makeup, rather than more chemically formed cosmetics.

The news provider explains that Paris Hilton, Madonna and Julia Roberts are all mineral makeup fans. Why all the hype about mineral makeup? It transpires that it might be better for your skin.

"Mineral makeup gets a lot of support from dermatologists," explains cosmetic medicine specialist, Dr. Karen Dover. "It's pure and quite soothing," she told the news provider.

However, if you still prefer to cling to your chemically-enhanced eyeliner, you can still have fun with it this coming year. Hello magazine recently spoke with Max Factor's global design director, Pat McGrath, who claimed that 2010 will be the year of the eye.
