Thinking of buying a condo in Canada? Buy camping gear first.

Most Canadians have heard or read about eager shoppers, willing to camp outside stores in order to be the first in line for an important sale. Normally, camping outside a department store is linked to deep discounts on furniture, premium electronics or high-end clothing. Yet according to the Vancouver Sun, some Canadians are staking spots to be the first to purchase some much larger items.

The news provider reveals that some soon-to-be Vancouver residents recently recently chose to camp outside a new building in the Yaletown area in order to have first pick of this top-notch real estate. People were willingly camping on sidewalks for a condo in the new edifice called The Mark. This section of the city is also reportedly up-and-coming and very trendy.

If you're in the market for a new home, particularly one in a city hotspot, it might be a good idea to invest in some new camping gear. At this time of year, nights can get pretty darn chilly, so be sure to include a warm sleeping bag on you camping gear shopping list. One like the Thor Windstopper can keep you warm down to -30 degrees Celsius, if you're particularly determined to get that prime condo.
