Tips for the Summer Groom

Posted by Angelique Oerlemans on June 24, 2009 in Clothing & Accessories

Summer is the time for Weddings and while the bride tends to get all the attention, the groom has a certain responsibility to look his best as well.

A groom can rarely go wrong in a classic tuxedo or basic Suit, tie and dress shirt combination, but Wedding Bells' fashion consultant has picked the brain of the experts at Syd Silver Formals for an idea or two for some fashion-forward thinking to add a little variety. Boldness with colour and pattern are in this summer, so feel free to try something new.

As far as suits go, you should feel free to mix and match, getting away from a single colour tone. You can follow Jay-Z's lead and go with a white or cream Blazer over black tuxedo pants, for instance, or more subtly go with pinstripes.

The groom shouldn't be afraid to go with a pattern on their shirt, their ties or any accessories. Going strong on colour is also recommended.

"One should always win - either a bold tie or a bold shirt," Tom Julian, the author of The Nordstrom Guide to Men's Style reminds people. "When in doubt, let your tie take center stage."ADNFCR-2437-ID-19235014-ADNFCR
